Exhiben ofrenda con miles de flores y calaveras de barro en Madrid
Se destacan cuatro intervenciones obras del arte popular mexicano: - Tapete de Huamantla, tradicional tapete hecho de serrín de colores que forma un camino que da la bienvenida a los muertos y los conducen hacia la ofrenda realizado por los artistas Angélica Vértiz y Rubén Pérez. - Arcos de flores, cinco portales formados por 35,000 flores multicolores y que representan el paso entre el mundo de los muertos y el de los vivos. - Tzompantli, que en náhuatl siginifica “hilera de cráneos” se construía por los mexicas para rendir culto a Huitzilopochtli, dios del sol y la guerra. Se recrea en esta ocasión con 132 calaveras de barro negro, realizadas artesanalmente en el pueblo de San Bartolo Coyotepec, Oaxaca, por Omar Fabián, Felipe Fabián, Tierra Lumbre y Artesanías Simón. - Xoloitzcuintles, acompañantes de almas, exposición que muestra a los nahuales xoloitzcuintles que son figuras sagradas zapotecas talladas en copal y pintadas a mano con tintas naturales. Los mayas y los mexicas los consideraban un guía para los difuntos a través del Mictlán.
